How much water does a dog drink every day?
The amount of water that a dog needs to drink per day is converted according to its weight, 50~60ml per kilogram. For example, a 10kg dog can drink at least 500~600ml of water per day.
These cannot be drunk
1. Pure water
Because pure water filters out essential minerals for the dog's body. If you drink it, it will be bad for the dog's health, so don't give the dog pure water.
2.Tap water
If there is no filtered tap water, you cannot give it to your dog because there will be bacteria hidden in the water, which may cause diarrhea to the dog.
3. Alcohol-containing beverages
The liver of a dog cannot break down alcohol as quickly as humans. Therefore, it will cause great damage to the dog's brain and easily cause nerve center disorders, which are commonly known as "alcohol poisoning", which will cause coma, heartbeat inhibition, and even death.
4. Milk
Because dogs lack digestive enzymes that can decompose lactose, if given to them, it may lead to lactose intolerance and even diarrhea. If diarrhea is severe, it will cause the dog to die of dehydration.
Short suggestions
1. Change water frequently
Some shovelers will forget to change the water for their dogs and keep a bowl of water for a few days. This will cause bacteria to grow, which may cause gastrointestinal discomfort of the dog.
2. Wash dishes frequently
dogs' water bowls should be washed twice a week to avoid bacterial growth.
3. Dogs cannot be fed immediately after exercise. Drinking a lot of water immediately after strenuous exercise will increase the discharge of sweat, cause more salt loss, and increase the amount of blood circulation, thereby increasing the burden on the heart.
Therefore, after the dog exercises, water cannot be given to the dog immediately. The dog should be given a rest for a while before giving the dog appropriate drinking water.
