There is no difference between the appearance of the puppies in the first week, and they should be tied with straps of different colors to make the difference, so that they can know who has eaten milk and who has not.

Starting from the first day of birth of puppies, they are weighed every day. Generally, they weigh about 450-550 grams when they are born. In the first 4 weeks, they increase their weight on average by 50 grams per day, and by 4-8 weeks, they increase almost 100 grams per day.

Small dogs mature faster than large dogs. All puppies must have four meals a day before 3 months of age. They can be reduced to three meals a day when they are 3-6 months of age, and they can be fed twice a day after 6 months of age. Small dogs mature faster than large dogs and can eat according to the recipes of adult dogs at their 8 years of age - but large dogs are still growing rapidly at this age and need to eat according to the recipes of puppies for a long time.

Make records. It should be pointed out that the needs of each puppy are different, some need more, and some need less. Whether your feeding amount is appropriate can be seen from the physical condition of the puppy. Regularly measuring your puppy’s weight and recording it can be checked whether the puppy’s growth rate matches the feeding amount. Then, you can make adjustments to avoid being fat or thin.

Maintain reasonable eating time. Normally, a puppy should eat for 10-15 minutes. The remaining food should be thrown away after a meal. Puppies must have their own utensils for dining and drinking water, and should be kept clean and separated from other utensils in the home. You must also provide puppies with adequate, hygienic fresh water.

Good dog food is not prone to obesity. If the puppies have a small stomach, if they are fed low-quality dog food, the puppies will soon be full, and the nutrition they deserve will not be absorbed. On the contrary, when feeding high-quality dog food, the puppy can absorb the protein it should have without being too heavy and too fat due to its large amount of food.
