A giant snake with two dogs in its belly was caught in northeastern Thailand.

The 22-foot-long python with a huge bulge on its belly was found in the wasteland - and locals believe it has been living off stray animals and pets.

On July 9, the giant snake was spotted slithering across abandoned building materials in an open field in Sisaket Province.

Video footage shows zookeepers pulling it out of an elaborate nest built under a pile of old concrete pillars.

One, Piyachat Charoensopha, explained: "This is one of the largest snakes we have ever seen.

"The python may have lived in that wasteland for some time and made a living on stray animals. "

Piyachat added that a villager was looking for their two missing pet dogs, which were likely creatures from the snake's stomach.

He continued: "A villager was looking for two dogs.

"The snake had two dogs inside, so we believe it was a missing pet."

The snake was easy to spot due to its size - and due to the size of its most recent meal, it could barely move.

It was then taken to a rehabilitation facility where it was cared for by veterinarians.
