Cats have a long history as human pets, but they have not lived with us as companion animals for a long time. Now they no longer serve as the responsibility of catching mice and guarding food as they did at the beginning. They have more functions to help their owners regulate their emotions and relieve stress. These furry little guys who live with us are very energetic, especially in their underage stages, who do not know the depth of many things around us.

Low, let’s learn about what unexpected accidents may occur in daily life and the correct way for the owner to deal with them as soon as possible!

01, when you find that a cat is unconscious, you should first get rid of danger and then take it to the veterinarian immediately. Use the blanket as a stretcher, place the cat flat and gently on the blanket. Carefully lift the blanket and place it on a smooth countertop. If the cat has difficulty breathing, lie on its side so that its head is down. Open its mouth and pull its tongue forward. Use the medicinal cotton to gently wipe the mucus in your mouth. Do not let the cat lie on one side for more than 5 to 15 minutes, and do not feed it any food. When taking the cat to the hospital, lower the blanket into a safe box or air box.

02. When bandaging a cat, remember to tie the bandages tightly, but not too tight, otherwise it will hinder local blood circulation. Clean the local area before applying a bandage. If there is any trauma, you can use saline water to clean it. After drying, wrap it in gauze, and then tie it with a bandage. If local swelling occurs after tying the bandage, you need to release it and re-pray it.

03. Bleeding

First find the bleeding wound, and then quickly cut off the hair around the wound. If there are any foreign objects such as glass fragments, remove them first. When there is less bleeding, you can use tap water or diluted 3% hydrogen peroxide to clean the wound, then apply gauze and wrap a bandage to stop the bleeding. If the bleeding is severe, stop the bleeding first and then immediately send it to the hospital. When the wound is on the chest or abdomen, you can use gauze to press it. If the bleeding has not stopped, use ice to apply cold compress. You can also use ropes and sticks to stop bleeding. It should be noted that it must be loosened every 15 minutes to prevent tissue from being necrotic at the end of it.

04, Fracture

When the cat is limping or shaking while walking, these are signs of a fracture. Parents should try not to let the cat move, and they should also prevent it from touching its affected area, so as to avoid broken bones from damaging tissues such as blood vessels or nerve lines. Parents can place it in an air box to reduce its range of movement and send it to the hospital in a timely manner. If parents have common knowledge about pet first aid, they can use splints to fix the fracture area by themselves, but if they have not been trained, they can refer to the following methods or ask a veterinarian for help. ①Wrap the fracture with cotton and tie it with a bandage to reduce the shock caused by movement; ② Place two suitable and strong wooden boards on both sides of the fracture and bandage it firmly with a bandage again.

As the saying goes, curiosity kills cats. As their owners and their guardians, we should understand some simple common sense of first aid and nursing. When an accident occurs, we can deal with it correctly as soon as possible and minimize casualties.
