25-year-old Argentine striker Carranza has joined Leicester City on loan from Dutch League One team Feyenoord for one season. This transfer is subject to approval from the international and leagues.
Carranza played 30 games for Feyenoord last season, including seven Champions League games. Prior to that, he played in the Major League Soccer (MLS) for four years and performed well.
In an interview with Foxes Hub, Carranza said: "I am very happy and very excited to be here. I am grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to start a new journey. When this opportunity arises, I didn't hesitate at all. We all know Leicester City's status as a team and a club. So when the opportunity comes, I was very excited."
"I have some experiences in different places. Of course, it's also a brand new experience for me. Everyone wants to play in England, and every player wants to play here, so I'm very excited and can't wait to start."
Carranza was born in Argentina and started her career at Argentina Premier League team Banfield and then transferred to MLS team Miami International in 2019. He played for four years in MLS, scoring 37 goals and sending 15 assists, becoming an important member of the team's runner-up in the 2022 MLS Cup.
With his outstanding performance, Carranza transferred to the Eredivisie in the summer of 2024, helping Feyenoord to third place in the league in his first season and entering the Champions League knockout stage. He will meet with his Leicester City teammates to prepare for the Championship League against Oxford United on September 13.
