According to the British media Mirror, Newcastle is worried that Liverpool will re-introduce Van Dijk when introducing Isaac.
After Liverpool's recent offer worth 110 million was rejected by Newcastle, the former hinted that the pursuit of Isaac would be temporarily shelved.
Isaac hopes to join Liverpool. He missed Newcastle's Asian preseason due to a thigh injury. He is currently using the training facilities of his former club Real Sociedad to maintain his form. Eddiehao publicly stated that the club fully supports Isaac, but fans may have been angered by the players' actions.
If the relationship between the two sides continues to deteriorate, Newcastle will face greater pressure and may be forced to reach an Isaac deal with Liverpool.
Liverpool had similar operations when making a transfer of Van Dijk: In the summer window of 2017, Southampton reported to the Premier League that Liverpool had illegally contacted Van Dijk, and the player's transfer was shelved. Klopp publicly stated that he would stop pursuing Van Dijk, but five months later, Liverpool still won Van Dijk for 75 million pounds as he wished.
Currently, Newcastle believes that they are leading the battle for Cesco and has submitted a transfer offer of 70 million pounds to RB Leipzig. If Newcastle signs Cesco, it will enhance Liverpool's confidence in winning Isaac in this transfer window.
