Sun: Two Saudi teams are interested in Maguire, he will only consider whether to leave at the end of the season

The Sun reported that Maguire became the target of two Saudi Arabian clubs. The Manchester United defender is considering a transfer, but will only be after the end of the season.

Saudi Arabia's transfer window will be closed on September 23, but Maguire, 32, has informed the teams that he will fulfill his last year's contract with Manchester United. This summer, Manchester United rejected offers from Premier League and Serie A clubs to Maguire.

The England defender's contract expired at the end of last season, but Manchester United chose to extend it for one year to keep him in the team until 2026. Maguire can negotiate with overseas clubs in January, but he admits he may stay at Old Trafford after 2026 if United really want him to stay.

Six years ago, Maguire joined Manchester United from Leicester City for £85 million and made more than 200 appearances for the club. The extended transfer windows of Saudi Arabia and Turkey (the transfer market closed on September 12) also provide United with an opportunity to deal with transfer issues with underperforming goalkeepers Onana or Baindel by next week.

Manchester United signed Real Antwerp's young goalkeeper Lamons for £18.2 million before Monday's deadline and is now willing to hear offers for Onana and Baindel. Lamens is considered a long-term signing, and he is the fourth player to compete for the main goalkeeper position, with the other three being Onana, Baindi Del and Tom Heaton.

Onana attracted Saudi interest earlier this summer and was associated with Turkish superstar Galatasaray on the deadline as a replacement for Ederson. However, Ederson eventually joined Fenerbahce while Galatasaray signed Chakir. Still, Onana may choose to leave Old Trafford this month to avoid a transfer storm during the African Cup in January.

The 29-year-old player hopes to be selected for the Cameroon national team for the upcoming African Cup, which will be held from December 21 to January 18. Meanwhile, Baindel is also on the purge list and may return to his homeland to serve faster than expected.
